The Literacy Center relies entirely on donations and grants from people like you. Your financial support helps people develop literacy skills to get a better job, read to their children and help with their homework, read medical information, learn English, and help our community be stronger and more vibrant.

$2,500 Graduates an adult through all four GED courses
required for a diploma and a better job.
$1,500 Provides 75 hours paid classroom instruction.
$1,000 Provides 670 bus passes to students needing transportation to attend classes.
$800 Provides two weeks classroom instruction.
$500 Moves one student through an entire course – OR – Provides 20 WebMic Headsets for English Language Learners.
$300 Covers the cost for classroom books for one adult in all five courses.
$250 Provides four packages of Assessment Score Sheets.
$100 Provides three hours of instruction for one adult student.
$60 Purchases the necessary text books for one adult math class.
$50 Provides two reading text books for one adult student.
$40 Teaches an entire classroom for one hour.
$20 Supplies an entire classroom of students with pens,
pencils, notebooks, and paper.

Giving Circle

Members are committed to changing lives for the better.  Their generosity includes annual and multi-year gifts to the Literacy Center. The giving levels represent cumulative gifts over one or multiple years. Gifts may come from individuals, businesses, community groups or foundations.

Quill. $300 a year for three years.
Classic. $1,000 a year for three years.
Laureate. $5,000 a year for three years.
Annual. $20 a month for 12 months.

Students completing their GED walk across the stage with cap and gown and are presented with their framed diploma. Students completing their English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education earn a certificate of completion. We recognize several categories as we encourage hard work, effort, and attitude in their journey for a better life through our programming.

Legacy Society

Be part of a very special group of friends who have chosen to plan for the Literacy Center through their estates, wills and trusts. These donors have named the Literacy Center as the beneficiary of a planned gift. Such gifts may include a bequest and/or charitable income gifts, such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, charitable remainder annuity trusts, or gifts of life insurance.
